Adding a second graphics card

Hey, so I just built a computer today and it's running fine I just need to install windows when it comes.

I was wondering if I could put the graphics card from my old PC into this one for use on a second screen. I have read a few things and most say it's ok but they're the same graphics card and I was wondering if I could get these two different ones and put them together:

New one: MSI GeForce GTX 1070 8GB Video Card

Old one: GeForce GTX 750 Ti

Your GPU can run 2 or more monitors on its own. While yes you can run your old GPU for a second screen its better serving you being sold on ebay.

Even if you own a VGA only monitor adn have to use an active adapter, it's still a better idea to do that than run two GPUs.

You should hurry up. The 1050 and 1050 ti are right aroung the corner and so 750 prices ar about to go down significantly.

I was also wondering if I could move my current hard drive over (Seagate Desktop 1 TB Internal HDD - 3.5" - ST1000DM003). I have what I need to install it and space I'm just not sure if it's ok to move my current one that has a lot of stuff already on it like steam and if it will mess anything up.

If by that you mean using your old Windows install, that's hit and miss adn it's pretty much alwasy recommended to do a fresh install, especially if you are moving from AMD to Intel or vice versa.
If you mean moving it as a data drive, no issues whatsoever, though you will need to google how to install steam and make it use your old game installs instead of redownloading everything.

Wwell, it would be a good idea torun crystaldiskinfo and see about the health of the drive. If it's good, all good, but if it shows warnings you should atleast not use to store anything important on it os stop using it altogether.
