Hello all,

I am looking to add a second monitor to my setup and am looking for a little advice. Here are the important parts of my current setup:

Monitor: Asus PB278Q 27" 2560x1440
GFX Card: Asus R9 290 DCUii

The rest of the computer is more than capable, so I won't list it here unless someone thinks it is necessary.

My question is, I want to add a second monitor to my setup. I would like it to run in portrait mode next to my existing monitor. I'm not concerned with them matching or looking good together, just functionality. I'm looking in the 23-25" range. My usage would be mainly web, reading word/PDF documents, and reference/tool bars for various programs I use (premiere, media composer, photoshop, stock tickers, etc.) I know 1080p would probably be adequate for this, but since 1440p monitors are (finally) becoming available in this size, I'm looking at those too (specifically the new PB258Q that should be released soon). I also know this is a only a few $'s cheaper than the current price of the PB278Q I already own, but I like the thinner bezel, and 27" will just be way too big (not that a 25" is that much smaller).

I game very minimally on this machine, and I would only run my main monitor for that anyways, so no eyefinity. Price isn't a big concern, I'm prepared to spend what is necessary for what I want. I have no need for 4k. Stand with built-in pivot is preferred, but VESA compatible would be acceptable.

I welcome other suggestions or ideas, thanks in advance for the help!

Made my decision, went with the Asus PA248Q.

Reasons were:
Love the Asus build quality and feature set for their PA/PB series
PPI in the neighborhood, so less issues with my eyes having to refocus when switching monitors, text should be more consistent size and smoothness (this was huge)
24" 1920x1200 gives me more workspace without going to another 27" monitor
Didn't want to wait on the PB258Q (but may still get one for my second computer)
