I'm sharing an internet connection with other people in my house, is it possible to add a second router to my existing router and share the internet connection but still keep the networks seperate? As in they cannot see devices connected to my router and vice versa ?

Solution
You could add a router with the WAN port connected to a LAN port on your existing router. That would prevent any of your house mates from accessing devices connected to "your" router. You could access their devices with some work, but generally you would be isolated. You would still share the total bandwidth on the primary router.
