Hi,
I have a B550 AORUS ELITE AX V2 motherboard. I have a WDS250G2BOC SSD installed - which I believe is a 250gb Western Digital NVMe SSD? I also have a HDD installed.
Newer games, such as Baldurs Gate 3 and Starfield, are best run using an SSD, however I dont have room on my current SSD to install the games, so I am looking to install another SSD.
Can I install a second NVMe SSD on this particular motherboard? I wasnt sure if there are 2 slots available for 2 NVMe ssd's? I am trying to locate the manual to see if it has 2 x slots, but cant find my manual at present, but I do think there is a second slot for one if I am not mistaken?
Or is an external SSD worth considering. I wasnt sure if there would be any detriment to speed/loading times compared to an internal one?. I am in UK and there are 1TB portable SSD drives from Samsung, Crucial etc, that range in price from £50 - £60. (Perhaps this last query should be on the SSD forum - apols), but my main query was if the mobo could take another NVMe.
Thanks
