Hello. I recently dismantled an old computer and I found a CD drive thingamajig. I don't have one on my newer rig, so I tried plugging it into the PSU, but there was not a cable that fitted the CD drive. The PSU from the old computer had a cable for it, so I was wondering if I could take the cable out of the old PSU and somehow put it into the new one. Thanks!

Solution
No. Modular cables are typically proprietary to the unit/manufacturer. If the CD drive is so old that your current power supply doesn't have the correct power cable for it, I wouldn't bother adding it to my system.
