Question Adding GPU to Ryzen 2200G system, no display, black screen

Jun 3, 2020
I have ASRock B450M Steel Legend with Ryzen 2200G. I wanted to add a GPU to my system, EVGA GTX 1070 SC. I ran into a black screen, case fans run hi low hi low, GPU fans ramp up on start then shut down. Solutions I tried: checking cable connections, checking that it is properly seated, disabling the iGPU Vega driver, and booting into safe mode did nothing. I can run games on Vega 2x better than Intel HD 520 (laptop from 2016) but I'd rather use more powerful graphics. Please help me. BTW I can't get back into BIOS because I enabled UltraFast Boot. I have already sent back the GPU because I thought for sure it was the GPU. Please help me figure this out. I'm not necessarily a noob but I've never ran into this issue.
