I am using a Behringer UCA202 external sound card to output sound from my computer to an RCA stereo system. I understand that the Behringer UCA202 does not come with hardware volume controls—if I press volume up or volume down in my computer it does nothing and I can only change volume from the RCA stereo system. My question then is: is there a driver or some other form of software I can download to be able to change volume using my computer's hardware volume controls?

Any help is appreciated.

Right click the little speaker icon on monitor screen. Most likely the lower right corner.

Select playback devices and then your device. Should be selected or otherwise "enabled".

Make sure the device is not muted or have its volume set very low.

My device is enabled and I can hear it just fine. My problem is that whenever I press the volume up or volume down buttons or even change the slider from my computer nothing changes. The only way to change volume is turning it up or down in the RCA Stereo System. I believe this is because the Behringer UCA202 does not come with a driver to adjust volume using a computer therefore I am wondering if there is a driver or software I can download or even buy.

Solution
