Hello. I saw these heatsinks at CompUSA that you can attach to system RAM or video RAM. Are these any good? Also, how much do heatsinks on video RAM help in increasing the overclock speed and improving the stability for the Asus V8000T2 Pure? I know my card does not have heatsinks on the RAM, unlike the picture used on the Asus Web site (it's probably the V8000T2 Deluxe.)

Thanks.

Well most times it doesn't help much... unless you're memory chips are feeling hot if you touch them.

Maximum PC Magazine did a test with memory heatsinks on a Visiontek GF4 and found little or no improvements with heatsinks. They look cool though. Same goes for the Thermaltake Copper GF4 fan.

maybe the chips won't oc better just cuz that's their limit (upping the voltage could help...), but having them coolor puts me at ease, i like to think it's prolonging the life of my card for $20 (the Tt gf4 set), and looks cool as well.
plus i saw a review of the thermaltake core cooler versus another stock one that was all copper and supposed to be quality for oc'ing. the Tt outperformed it, maybe b/c of a bigger fan. anyway, even if it doesn't help your oc, it ought to keep your chips cooler cuz the surface area suddenly increases like 20 fold
less for the chips on the back, admittedly
