I have a Lenovo Bantry CRB motherboard currently using 2 of 4 available DIMM slots for 8GB of memory. The MB is capable of running 16GB of RAM. I have two sitcks from an old machine that can add 4GB of RAM two my machine. All of the specs match my existing RAM (speed, pins, etc.). Can someone to tell me if installing these two sticks will hurt my machine?

Solution
It will not hurt it in anyway. Worst case, your system will not boot or it will not be stable. If that is the case just pull those ram out again and no harm done.
So basically as you already have the RAM, just try it. If it works it works, if not you didn't loose anything.
