Adding memory

i have 2 sticks of http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231276 in my computer with a crosshair formula 4 board and a amd 1090t processor. so thats 4gb of ram. is it possible to add another 8gb without having to take out the 2 sticks i have in their?

What are you doing that makes you think you need 12GBs of ram?
