Question Adding more RAM memory

My laptop: HP-Omen 15-c0xx
Motherboard: HP 8390
Processor : Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-7300HQ CPU @ 2.50GHz
Current ram: Samsung 8GB DDR4 2400mhz M471A1K3BB1-CRC

So, I've read a bunch on what types of ram I can add to my laptop, and honestly, I'm confused as all hell...
As far as I've figured, I need to find another 2400mhz stick of 8gb ram; but it also has to be compatible with my current Samsung one? Or can I just slot in another DDR4 stick with a higher frequency and have the speed get reduced to match the 2400mhz one?
I would gladly buy the same one I have right now, however, the production is discontinued and I can't find a used one anywhere remotely near me.

Any and all help would be appreciated!

Best would be to invest into a dual channel aftermarket ram kit, with the following specs, 2x8GB DDR4-2400MHz 1.25v/1.35v. Might want to also make sure you're on the latest BIOS version for your laptop prior to dropping in the rams you're going to purchase.

Where are you located, preferred site for purchase and a budget for your ram purchase?

Thanks for the quick response!
To answer your questions, I live in Serbia currently. I'd be fine with purchasing two new sticks of ram(from any retailer, the largest ones here are https://gigatron.rs and https://www.tehnomanija.rs), the funny thing is, I can't seem to find a single 2400mhz stick anywhere in the country(I can get anything from 1600 to 7200, just not 2400 lol...). Is the 2400 ddr4 a rare type or something?
Would it be fine to just put in a stick of 2666mhz and 1.2V, with a similar latency?

You don't need a 2400Mhz stick, your CPU supports 2400Mhz, if you get faster it will automatically downclock it to the supported speed. I've mixed and matched sticks in laptops loads of times and never had an issue personally. In terms of what you should buy, this would do:
https://gigatron.rs/memorije/kingston-valueram-sodimm-8gb-ddr4-2666mhz-cl19-kvr26s19s88-160036

I can't see any kits, I would just buy 1 x 8GB of that, pair it with your current RAM. If you run into issues just buy a second stick.

Thanks for the reply, I wasn't sure if just downclocking was a good solution. I'll try it with the pinned memory and get back to you! Just one more thing, the ram in question has a latency of cl19 while mine has cl 17, is that something that I should consider a problem or not?
