Adding more ram

I currently have this ram in my computer:

I want to add one more stick of 4gb, to round it off to 16gb (4x4)

Is this the correct one to add so that all of them will be the same?:

The only difference I can see is that the latency on the 4gb is listed as 9-9-9-24-2N whereas the 12gb is just 9-9-9-24. Will this be a problem or slow it down at all?

Rule of thumb when buying RAM is to try your best to match frequencies and speed exactly. Although these haven't been known to cause major problems, people have reported them.

So to answer your question, I would avoid doing it that way and make sure the two exactly match. Also, verify with your MB manufacture if you're unsure what the board maxes out at.

Ram purchased at separate times even if identical could be incompatible.

There is always a chance they won't run together.

Best when purchased in matching pairs \ sets from the same retail pack.
