Adding more RAM.

Well,I know that this topic has been discussed a lot of times in many forums.
But I'm still a bit confused.
What i want to know is:

If i have a Corsair 4 GB DDR3 1600MHz Memory ,already installed.
Can i actually add,one more of the exact same model to the other slot of my motherboard,as an upgrade?

Installing multiple single modules that have never been tested together is not guaranteed to work or how it will work. Doing so may require slower clock speed, looser timings. increased voltages to get it to work. Using a single kit is what is guaranteed and recommended.
