Adding old hdd to a new laptop question

Planning on buying a new laptop in in a few weeks since I need an upgrade from my old dell one. I took out the 500 gb hdd from it already with all my files(windows 10, steam, work files, music). My new laptop already has an ssd in it and has another slot to add another drive. Once I receive the new laptop, boot it up, remove bloatware, and update, will I be able to put in my old hard drive to use as a secondary drive and it'll still have all my files?

Yes, just make sure your boot drive is the SSD in bios.
