Adding Recycle Bin and System Volume Folders

Hi Folks,

Can anyone tell me why my external drives have suddenly added a Recycle Bin and System Volume Information folders.

I would not really mind except that after I delete them they just return!

....Yep it's normal and basically you can't stop it as far as I know....
Correct, you cannot stop this behavior. Each drive gets its own Recycle Bin and System Volume Information directory. The Recycle Bin is self explanatory. System Volume Information contains the system restore points for that drive. Even if system restore is disabled this directory is created on all newly detected volumes, if it doesn't already exist.
