Question Adding same capacity/speed/make and model RAM to what you already have?

Hi everyone,

To keep a long story short, I'll give an example of what I'm asking.

Assume I have a single 8gb DIMM, say a HyperX Fury 8gb 2666mhz coupled with a Ryzen 5 rig (1st gen). Say I want to purchase an identical DIMM in order to run in dual channel along with having the additional capacity. Would this work or would I face issues?

I know there's a debate about how compatibility between "non-matched" sets can cause problems. What are your thoughts so long as both DIMMs are essentially identical?

Unfortunately returning won't be possible. I guess I'll just take a game and see how it plays out. Ha ha.
