it is never recommended to mix sets of RAM.
even if they are the same exact specs or even if they are the exact same model.

you'll find some arguing that they've done it and had no issues.
but then you will find many more stating random crashes, BSoD, small to large losses in performance, failure to post, etc.

you should be looking for a new set of larger sticks instead of adding a new set to the mix.
