Hi, I am trying to build a gaming computer. From what I have researched these parts should all be compatible. I have left out some simple things (cpu glue crap, sata cables, etc) from this list for now, but here is my main components, with links, if you guys think this is perfect or if I suck and need to tweak stuff let me know:

Case: NZXT Phantom 410 Case
Mobo: MSI Z87-G45 LGA 1150 "Pro Gaming with Killer Networking"
CPU: Core i5 4670k
PSU: Corsair RM-850 Power Supply
GPU: ASUS GTX780-DC2OC
RAM: CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB 240pin DDR3 SDRAM 1600
SSD: Kingston HyperX 120GB
SoundCard for fun: Creative SOund Blaster Z

Now the sound card may be a waste of money... but I love explosions.... I probably have the RAM crap wrong. :/ I am positive everything else is right, now I know the PSU seems like overkill, but I MAY go SLI or upgrade in the future so I will leave that there. As for the SSD, the 120GB would be for the games, I have another 60gb laying around for the OS. Sure wish they would make those SATA-Express mobos already. -Sigh-

Subtotal: $1,456.91
With Taxes: 1,000,000

Oh, and I forgot to mention, I'm probably going to find like a 1440p monitor and or try to go for one of those nVidia surround setups. so yeah
Lemme know your input guys, and I appreciate it in advance, thanks!!

Solution
I'd pull that motherboard. Haven't heard many good things about it, and there are much better ones for not a lot more. AsRock Extreme 6 is good, as is the Asus P8Z87 Pro. Could probably save some money too, but the choices are solid otherwise.

For fun:

Solution
Okay, that ASRock fatality is just as good, I am swapping my mobo for that one! Oh, and also, what kind of cooler would you recommend?

Thanks for your fast reply, helps a lot! :)

I'm a big fan of the Noctua NH-U14s or NH-U12s coolers. The Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo is pretty cheap and cools well enough, although the 4670k might need more cooling than that can provide to achieve the maximum overclock(without resorting to a custom water cooled loop).

For closed loop coolers, the Corsair h80i and h100i/110 are good units as well.

Ok here's what I am going with:

Ok here's what I think I am going with:

Case: NZXT Phantom 410 Case
Mobo: ASRock Fatal1ty z87 killer
CPU: Core i5 4330
PSU: XFX P1 850B-BEFX
RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8gb DDR3 -2133
SSD: SAMSUNG 840 EVO
SoundCard: Creative Labs Recond3d
Fan: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO

A lot cheaper and definitely a steal. Some changes: the i5-4430. I feel maybe the 4670k may be overkill, I do not plan on overclocking my CPU, so I think it will be fine, how do you feel about it? From what I've seen, it should stand to the test with games like Crysis 3. The RAM, cheaper, and I have a 25.00 gift card for amazon. The Samsung SSD, it has longer rating same r/w speed. And the Cooler Master 212. Since I won't be overclocking it should be sufficient right?

Anyway, lemme know what you think. I am buying the PSU, Mobo, Cpu, RAM and SSD right now to get me started!

Yeah I did think about that, but the 3 pci express 3.0 man! Haha. Wait so I dont even need a cooler if i am not oc'ing?

Oh hey! What else would I want to get? Y'know like little things, like thermal paste, probably screws or something?
