If Windows update doesn't provide it, try the 32-bit Vista drivers, you will need to extract them to hdd and then manually install via device manager.

what i did was:
1. go to www.realtek.com/downloads/
2. look for and download the zip file driver for AC97
3. unzip it.
4. there will be a folder for 32bit and another folder for 64bit
5. install the driver via device manager.(my os was WIN7 ultimate 64bit so I installed the 64bit)
6. It works!
