Adjusting sound will adjust balance too

Hi there !

I have an Asus laptop (3 years old) but I still think this question is relevant to any windows 7 system. Win 7 64 bit, basically when I adjust the volume slider under the "levels" tab in speaker properties, the speaker balance adjusts as well ! I use external speakers but it happens with the internal laptop speakers as well. Upgraded driver, no change.

As in, if I slide the volume slider to say 30, the balance of the two speakers goes down to 30 as well, so it's nowhere near even balance.

Anyone have any ideas ? Very frustrating !

Hi, it's supposed to be like that, when you slide the volume down, the balance go down as well. The balance is between the right and the left speaker. Don't touch the volume for the speaker, keep it at 100, and adjust the balance for the right and left speaker independently. If you understand what I mean.
