Our Windows 7 (64 bit) PC has three users, which are all set as Administrators. No passwords are used. Recently, we have all experienced problems working in each other’s folders/files. We get an ‘Access Denied’ message and have to sign on as an Administrator every time.

I have tried resetting the Account type in User accounts. I have also Changed Permissions in the Advanced tab in the Security section of the Hard Disk’s Properties.

Both methods were tried in Normal and Safe Mode, but didn’t work.

Anyone know how I can correct this?

Regards,
John B

Your practices are likely causing confusion with respect to ownership and permissions.

You can readily find similar links by revising the search criteria as necessary.

Group Policy may also be involved.

All three of you will need to get together and "map out" the current permissions and ownership of the applicable folders and files.

or even easier is to not store things in the various users' libraries.

simply make other folders that anyone can access. saves headaches of figuring out permissions and such for those libraries. a second data drive works great for this type of thing. everyone will be able to use the data this way right off.
