Adobe flash player for windows vista 32 bit won't run!

No thread... just won't run. I read some instructions to click on util9b in the flash folder (below) and there is no such file:

windows/sys32/Macromed/flash. I don't have the FlashUtility9b it says to click on and run as administrator.

It will not work. It was working fine and suddenly it's not when I apparently did an update. How can I get flashplayer back on my PC... ANY version at this point.
I've downloaded and hit run. Then it says it's installed, but it doesn't work--keeps saying I need to install it. In Folder listed above it shows as follows: FlashUtil32_14_0_0_125X (dll is same).
Any step by step instructions on how I can get this to work would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried running the flash player uninstaller tool on the adobe site? Try that and then attempt reinstallation

or uninstall it from programs the usual way

I haven't tried that ... I shall do that and hope it works. Thank you.
