A friend wishes to change the name he uses when sending email and although
he changed the name listed in his address book, everytime he sends an email
his previous name still appears.
I told him to delete the complete entry for his address and reinstate it
with his new name.
He did this but the old name still appears on his email when sending
I am stuck foe an answer.
Can anyone help please

Since you didn't specify which email program your friend is
using I'm passing on instructions for Outlook Express.

Open Outlook Express and click on the Tools menu.
Select Accounts.
Click on the Mail tab.
Click on his email account to hightlight it and hit the
Properties button.
On the General page, enter the correct name and click OK.
Close the Internet Accounts page.
Have him send a test email to himself to see if the correct
sender name is displayed.

The procedure for Outlook will be similar.

What e-mail program is your friend using? He needs to change the
account settings in the e-mail program. If using Outlook Express this
is done by selecting Tools, Accounts. Go to the Mail tab and select the
account in question. Click the Properties button to bring up the
properties for that account. On the General tab of account properties
change the name there and that will change what appears on outgoing
e-mails for that account.

If using OE (and you don't specify) the Senders name appears in the Account
Properties not the address book.

You have to change it in the "accounts" section of the email/news reader.

in Outlook Express for instance Under Tools > Accounts then choose the news
account youo want, then Properties and change the "User Details"
information.
