Hi there guys I am in need of some extra help on my question.

I want to buy this motherboard: MSI 970 Gaming Motherboard

and I have a Phenom II x2 550 Black Edition.

So my Question is will I be able to unlock my other 2 cores on this motherboard? I cant seem to find out if it have ACC or not.

Any help would be much appreciated.....
 
What the original poster is referring to is that some of the 500 series CPU's have two of their cores disabled and are marked as X2. The same thing was done with the X3's where the 4th core was disabled. What he's looking to do is unlock the additional cores via the BIOS which is/was a feature at one point.

So is it possible? Maybe.... There's no guarantee that the CPU will work correctly with the additional cores enabled and that's why there were disabled to begin with. Since that's a very very old CPU I don't even know if any modern boards even support it.

500 series: These chips have two cores disabled, leaving them with two operational cores (marketed as "X2") and a fully operational L3 cache.
Some versions of the Phenom II X2 and X3, however, have no defects in the silicon but one or two cores "deactivated" to enable AMD to target the lower end of its market.[12] As a result, with the correct motherboard and BIOS it is possible to unlock the deactivated core(s) of the processor. However, success is not guaranteed, because in some cases the core(s) may have been deactivated due to faulty silicon. Hardware enthusiast websites have collected and summarized anecdotal reports that, overall, indicate about a 70% success rate,[13] but these reports likely have self-reporting bias, and more importantly, it is impossible to know whether an unlocked core is truly bug-free.
 
Well I don't have this mobo but according to the manual it says on page 3-13

▶▶CPU Core Control
This item allows you to select the number of active processor cores. When set to
[Auto], the CPU will operate under the default number of cores.

So I'm guessing it does based off that.
