Advantage,disadvantage of 3 gpu's (gtx 680)

I have 2x asus gtx 680 dcu2 4gb in sli (i play on 3 monitors) and wondering what advantage,disadvantage there is using 3x gtx 680 i don't want to know about heat and power consumption since i know 2 cards can get hot and even 3x gpu's don't use alot of power (850watt would be enough) http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/geforce_gtx_680_3_way_sli_review,4.html

I have an i7 4790k 4.0 ghz on all cores and a Asus maximus Vii ranger mb that supports 3x gpus

From the link you provided, they recommend at least a 900w PSU. Then they say that if you plan to OC get something more powerful. I would recommend a 1000w unit if you plan to OC anything, like the GPUs or CPU.

You will always see the biggest gain by going from 1 to 2 cards in a multiple card configuration. After that you could see a lot smaller gains, and there are even some games that you may not see much at all. If the price is right, go for it. If you have to pay a lot it's not going to be worth it IMO.
