Advantage of Crossfire gaming AMD R9 270X cards?

I currently have a R9 270X 2GB GDDR5 card in in my system. If I were to buy a second card that was identical and run them both in Crossfire, how much of an improvement in gaming would I see?

For example, I can run Skyrim and Battlefield 3 on medium to high settings and keep the FPS above 100 at all times. How much would a second card improve FPS in those games?

Thanks!

Thank you. I've been considering switching my 270x out for a 290 soon though because the prices on ebay are very reasonable. My psu is a powerhouse too so I'm good on that front

Thanks! Like I said in the comment above yours, I was considering selling the 270x and buying a 290 but getting another 270x would be cheaper and I don't really need much more power than those two crossfired. I have a full-size NZXT Phantom case so I have plenty of room and the option to install more fans if needed

I would get another 270X if your PSU is sufficient. The only downside is more heat output and another point of failure.

Out of curiosity, did Catalyst 14.9.1 fix your problems? I heard 14.9 caused a lot of people problems but the new beta supposedly fixed most of them

I have not yet, no. I may turn on my second card soon, but it will be a lot of work to test.

Alright, just checking. I haven't downloaded 14.9 but I'll probably try the beta driver out once my second card comes in. Hopefully my pc won't slowly melt into a pile of molten steel lol
