Hello,
what type of service do i need to get internet with my compaq ipaq is it dial up or wireless where do i call to find out

I think I'd have a look at the HP Compaq manual for your model and find out if it has wireless built it. You should be able to download a manual from their support site.

If it has wireless (probably not cellphone type wireless internet) that would allow you to connect to wifi networks at cafes etc -- and also to a home connection that had a wireless router.

Talk to an internet service provider in your area (cable TV company or phone company are common sources).
