Hello people I just need advice please choosing an upgrade to my current memory I have a Gigabyte P55A-UD3P mainboard currently with 4x 2GB DDR3 kingston RAM I just read that my mobo supports upto 16GB @ 2200+ MHz on the site but couldn't choose what to pick due to the many choices and I don't want to buy something that won't work properly so thanks in advance for your tips :)

Hi Bizzare82
If you are only gaming 8gb of ram is more than enough
if rendering or video intensive tasks then the more memory the better and higher speeds and lower latency's etc
what are you using your pc for ?
this will help better answer your question

You could always just try to get RAM that is on the QVL. If not, you probably won't go wrong - the chances of your system denying your memory are rather small. Just make sure the RAM you get has the same voltage as your current, the voltage that your motherboard supports.

You can get 1.5V and throw onto a motherboard that support 1.65 but not the other way around.

What do you need more RAM for btw? Are you hitting the cap or?

I mostly use my PC for gaming, and recently I have been getting lower fps on newer games like wildstar and ESO. So I have been looking into ways to upgrade my components rather than a full system upgrade since I can't afford it at the time being. Any advice on how to accomplish that is welcome!

I don't see how that would be holding you down. But seeing as Wildstar is still a new game, they still have alot of tweaking to do and stabilizing performance over a wide GPU platform base. I would probably just hold on to my current system - It is a decent machine you have.

I checked what CPUs my mobo supports I only found out that the core i7 880 @ 3.06GHz is the best and final one that it supports but I can't find it anywhere to buy it :S
