Hi there! I am planning an upgrade of my RAM. I have actually 2 slots on my antique motherboard and now i have occupied one of them with 2 gb of pc2-6400 400 mhz RAM. The other slot is empty and want an addition of another 2 gb. The problem is that searching on ebay, where i plan to purchase, for ddr2 2gb pc2-6400 400 mhz i get only 2 results, though i wanted to ask which is a determinant factor? the 400 mhz or the pc2-6400? so the change of which one can i tolerate? Thanks!!

I understand that.. but in order for my new RAM to be compatible with my older one i can get another frequency RAM,or another module RAM?

Yes, but if you got a different one, they will run at the lowest frequency, for instance, if you get 400MHz and 667MHz, it will run at 400Mhz.

Mind that if you mix voltage it may not work properly, so the best thing to do is to have the same ram in both slots.

You´re very welcome! :)
