Advice about upgrading my computer.

I'm looking to upgrade my gaming PC and I'm wondering what I should focus on. I currently have a AMD RADEON HD 6970 graphics card and an AMD FX 4100 CPU. I'm looking to buy either the GeForce GTX 980 or 970. However, should I also upgrade my CPU? I've been looking at the AMD FX8350 or 8320 model, which would suit me best?
