Hi all!

Bit of an opinion collection rather than a question. Im looking at upgrading from my current 27" BenQ GW2760s. My question is which is better a noarmal 27" or 32" screen with 4k res, or a curved widescreen 35" 1440P. It'll mainly be for gaming with games like fallout 4, withcer, GTA and War Thunder. Looking for pros vs cons plus what youd choose and why, and if youve used both that'd be great!

Im currently running an overclocked custom water cooled 980ti (4k is right on the limit of posibility on my GPU, may upgrade to the 1080TI when i redo my cooling system and prices drop a bit.)

Thanks in advance!

If you are used to 27" at 1080p then you won't be affected that much, as the sweet for 1080p is considered to be 24".
If you don't play competitively, then 144hz won't be that much of a difference. I play at 4k 60hz and its not that bad if you haven't experienced 144hz (and gotten used to it)
Here is a couple notes on screen size and resolution:
A 35" display at 1440p won't look very nice up close. The 1440p sweet spot for pixel density is 27"
A 27 inch display @4k will look really good, but if you go up to 32" it will still have good density. If course, 32" is the size of a small TV, so if you like the current size of your monitor then get a 27".

Currently I have the Acer Predator X34 (Ultrawide 1440p 100hz) and Acer Predator X32 (4K, 32", 60hz). Both are fantastic monitors. I prefer to play on the X34 because I like the 21:9 aspect when gaming, but that is also the reason I got the X32 because not all games support 21:9, such as fallout 4. If you are going to go 4k, then I would suggest a 32" screen because the Pixel Per Inch is spaced out a little better and makes for a better computer experience because any text will be incredibly small.

With a 980ti I would not go 4K. You wont be able to run with all the eye candy and have good frame rates. Plus the added refresh rate of the 1440p monitors looks really nice on FPS games.

Res wont be much of an issue since im used to a 27" 1080p 60hz screen.. so 4k only having 60hz wont be a down grade, but a screen with a similar density but 144hz might be a bigger upgrade than more pixel density
