So I want to build a gaming Pc, which I have never done before, and I could use some help picking out a motherboard. I want to build a good gaming Pc with around a 1K budget. I am going to get the gtx 660 ti video card. Any advice for a good motherboard?

This would be my recommended $1000 build:

CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Seidon 240M 86.2 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler ($75.99 @ Newegg)
Motherboard: ASRock Z87 Extreme6 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($189.99 @ Newegg)

If the OS isn't a part of the budget then add a SSD:

No, I didn't, I look at the hardware, many of these bundles that are offered disappear within hours or a day - depends on what's allocated...on an earlier posts had an Op go back and forth and as they did three 'bundles' went from available to sold out

Last time Newegg offered this promo it was available for 2 weeks. We shall see what happens this time around.

According to that link the deal is with a i5 4670K which I was planning to get anyways. I was also looking at getting the Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD5H for my motherboard. How would this compare with the Extreme6?

Sorry I meant the 4670K. Both are good choices but I would personally recommend the Extreme6 only because I own one. Just be sure to update the Bios on the Extreme6 if you go with ASRock.
