I want to build myself a new PC but have no idea what I'm doing, could anyone recommend a good parts list for me? I want to use it mostly for gaming and surfing the web (As do most teenagers and young adults, lol) but I'm just not sure what to do, and I don't want to buy a super overpriced Alienware one, or anything like that

Edit:I live in Canada, I'd like to pay under or around $1500, I want to play a lot od modern games, ex. Dark Souls, MGS V, Far Cry, etc. I'd like to play them all on Medium to Medium-high resolution if possible. I might end up doing some editing and things on it at some point, so that's something to consider. plenty of USB ports since I like to Lan a lot. If you could recommend monitors and keyboards and things as well that would be top!

1. Mention your budget and in which country you are living.
2. List things you already have or you do not need e.g. OS, speakers, etc. , if any.
3. List things you definitely wanna have e.g. headphones/speakers, spesific keayboard, etc. , if any.
4. What are you going to use the PC for? pure gaming? rendering/editing? -answer so far- pure gaming.
In the end you will need:
PC, OS, monitor, keyboard, mouse, loudspeaker/headset, webcam (optional), printer (optional), scanner (optional) and gamepad (optional) or any other accesories (optional).
For the PC, you will need: processor, mainboard, RAM, etc.
We will help you make the configuration of all those above by using infos from you.

Wait for the GTX 1070/RX 480.

Solution
nVidia GTX 1070 and AMD RX 480 are about on the same price over performance level.
GTX 1070 is the faster and more expensive one.
If you play mainly on 1080p, RX 480 for about USD200 will do just fine.

Both GTX 1070 and RX 480 are not yet available on the market but will come very soon, until they are available, you can simply use the iGPU in the i5 6600k while waiting.

It depends on the i5 and the i7, and what retailer you get it from.
The only step up from the i5 suggested right now is the i7 6700K, which is roughly $100 more expensive.
The other color cases are almost twice the price. If you want another color at the same price you'll need to look at another brand or lower end case.
