Hello everyone, I am here because I need help with my first PC. I choose these components and I need help from advanced users. What is your opinion on this build? Should I change something?

Case: Zalman Z1 Neo
MB: MSI X470 GAMING PRO CARBON
GPU: MSI GTX 1050 AERO ITX 2G
RAM: PATRIOT DDR4 8GB 2666MHz CL19 ram
CPU: AMD RYZEN 5 1600
SSD: ADATA Ultimate SU650 SSD 240GB
HDD: from my older PC
PSU: I need advisement

Thank you for your reply.

I would drop the x470 in favour of the 1050ti mate yes absolutely 100%.

In all honesty I dont see a ryzen 1600 needing upgrading for a long time anyway & a 1050ti will outlast the 1050 2gb by a good year or 2.

The x470 pro carbon is a truly excellent board whereas the b350 pc mate is a budget (although thoroughly decent ) board.

But outright performance from the go for me is a much better choice , & the 1050ti will definitely give you that.

1| Where are you located and how much is your build's budget?
2| You don't need the X470 board for that processor, you can deal with a B350 chipset board if going with one GPU alone.
3| Pick DDR4-3200MHz ram kits since Ryzen likes fast rams.
4| You should be fine with a 450W reliably built PSU.

1. I am from Slovakia and my budget is around 600 €
2. Yeah, but I thought X470 is better for future and it is a good buy, because in local store they are giving SSD for free with that board.
3. Okay, I will find some
4. Could you tell me which brand or model is fine, please?

On a budget front corsair cx450/450m/550/550m.

Re that 470 board , I can see the appeal if it comes with a free ssd but how much actually is it in total price ??

A budget b350 can easily run the ryzen 1600 & may still be cheaper even if you buy an ssd separately.

2666mhz ram is ok for ryzen 1 but make sure to buy a 2 x 4gb kit not a single stick (dual channel can make 40% performance difference)

Okay I will check these PSUs.
That board with free SSD costs 10 € more than the lowest price in our country, and I think it is a bargain considering prices in other stores.
I chose x470 because of later upgrades (2nd generation of Ryzen...)
And that rams are actually 2x4 GB idk why it is written as 8 GB :D

The x470 & ssd is a decent deal , looking in alza it comes in at about €192 ??

My only issue is this (using prices from alza.sk)

X470 pro carbon + ssd €193
Gtx 1050 aero itx €136

Total €329

-----------

Msi b350 pc mate € 87
Adata 256gb ssd € 58
Msi gtx 1050ti 4gb OC € 174

Total €319

The 1050ti is way way better than a 2gb 1050.

I wanted that X470 because of later upgrades of PC. But I see that Msi b350 also supports Ryzen 2nd generation. So would you recommend me that msi b350 rather than X470?

Better X470 and that 1050 aero (new graphic card in future) or that MSI b350 and Msi gtx 1050ti 4gb OC ?

what's your primary uses for the pc? it's hard to say what all you need.

in my opinion future proofing isn't a great investment. companies put a premium on the high end stuff, higher upfront costs, and the unknown.
with upgrade paths you are banking on them actually being able to get more performance out of the same socket. which has not been always honored in the past.

for gaming cpu's strong thread performance 1-4 cores will keep it going for a while. your pick is fine. on the intel side the 8400 is very good.
PCIE 3 will be around for a while. so dropping another midrange gpu in down the road will be fine.
storage speed doesn't help games much, but it's a very nice perk for all around smoothness.
2x4 RAM is a good start.
