Hi guys, It's time for me to shop for a new computer again but I'm not sure weither I should go for GTX 780, or r9 290X? What graphics card is the better one? I'll be using 1920x1080 at least for now.

Hmmm actually w/o being any amd or nvidia fan boy, both cards are one of the best on the market with r9 290x being best of those 2.
But....the gtx 780ti is coming out soon which will be stronger and it will make the price drop of gtx 780. On the other hand the r9 290x runs too hot and noisy so it would be reccomended to wait for a custom cooler from other brands etc.
My main answer is be patient for 2 more week be4 buying any but is 100% up to you.

If i where you right now completely unpatient i would definately go for 290x.
I forgot to say thats r9 290x is quite new so you may or may not have any driver related issues.

Hope i helped!

Also yous should have a good cpu like Intel i7 quad core and also at least 16 gb ram and also a hood motherboard with sufficient cooling. Also consider buying an SSD or SSHD as they are faster and help us during gaming than old model HDDs. You must have all these things along with the good graphics card to have a tension free gaming and pc usage.

Waiting for the 780 Ti is also a good option, in the long run it's best to have a cool running system, the 290x will easily last you more than three years, but you would not want it to be running at 90+ degrees during games over that period of time, waiting a few weeks would be a good thing to do.

For the CPU a good cooler like the Xigmatek Gaia or Coolermaster Hyper 212 EVO would be great for keeping temperatures lower for overclocking.

That machine looks good, if you don't mind the high temperatures then go for it. If you're only gaming and not doing any video editing/rendering/photoshop an i5 and 8GB of ram should be more than enough. The SSD in that machine is also pretty decent.

Right now I would not recommend a plain 780 @500 when a 290 @ $400 gives it a run for the money. There is something going on with a 780 GE that is going to be between a Titan and 780Ti, leaves the 780 and 290x in the dust. Pricing has to be between 500 and 700, 600 perhaps?

That will be the card to wait on, Gigabyte has one and looks like EVGA is making one also with 6GB of memory.

I know that feel bro.
The gpu is a beast and you cant wait enjoying it. I underestand.
I had money for any build but i did 45 days to build it,with patience,in the end i builded it for 1700euro instead 2100 it was when i first planned on my build.
With 400 euro i bought roccat kone xtd gaming mouse(awesome),roccat kone mouse pad with crystal surface and shits(awesome),corsair vengease k90 gaming mechanical keyboard(freaking awesome), 2 xbox gamepads for pro/fifa,2 white cold cattode labs to light up my tower, and a usb fan for my hand to not sweat while gaming. All this cuz i was pateint.
Anyway go for it...
