Advice for possible upgrades

Hi there, I was wondering if anyone would have suggestions for upgrades:

Core: FX-6300 @ 3.5GHz
Cooler: H80i
Motherboard: ASUS M5A78L-MLX
RAM: 8GB @ 1333MHz
GPU: Gigabyte R9-280X
PSU: Corsair AX 760
HDD: Seagate 2TB

(Other stuff
Case: Storm Scout II
Monitor: Samsung B2330

Mainly looking to be able to play games on max with no frame rate drops. The 280X is good but not able to max things out.

I would overclock your CPU to 4.4-4.5 would get you an fps boost. 280x is still good. If you overclocked look into a GTX 970, would have no trouble maxing then.

Like I said though, I wouldn't stick the 970 with a stock speed 6300.

i5 4690K paired with a Z97 board. Then change the video card when more funds are available.
Or overclock your processor to at the least 4.6 if your motherboard can reach it.

I will definitely OC the FX-6300. On the topic of OC'ing, how would my performance look if I OC'd the 280X? I'd prefer not to spend money when its avoidable, of course. I might need a new motherboard ... 😛

you may get 10ish fps improvement i think you have to oc a card pretty hard to get quite a bit of fps improvement unless you get it clocked really high then you will see a improvement

I have OC'd my core to 4.4GHz. What are the safe levels to OC my GPU? (Btw, I OC'd my FX-6300 via CCC)
