Oh and that link is not harmful or trashy. I just didn't want to write out all of the specs and i thought it would be easier for everyone to read from hp's website.

that link is to the base model withs possible options ..what we really need to know is the long form version of whats under hood ..plz fill out this info

OS = xp ? 7 ? 32 bit ? 64 ?
CPU = there were a list possible cpu there, I dont know which one you got? x2 250 ? x3 ? x4 ?
RAM = I saw an odd listing 5GB ? is that what you have usually its 2 or 4 or 6 or 8GB
MB has 1 PCI x16 slot and on board graphics , areyou using the onboard ATI 4200 ? or do you have another card installed ..this will prolly be the thing u need the most

sound, lan, HD, and DVD, are all fine ..soo to sum up ..need to know
CPU =
RAM =
GPU =

then we can help you determing the best upgrades for the money that will do well with SWTOR ..thanks
since you seem to be wanting or already it hooked up to the TV for your display ..we'll need to know what kind of inputs the TV has ..HDMI ?

Considering the minimum requires lists an Intel GMA 4100, the integrated ATI Radeon 4200 should be able to handle the game. How well it can play the game is questionable since everyone has different expectations and sometimes the listed minimum requirements can actually be too low for the game to run in a playable manner.

It would save up $75 - $100 so that you can at least get a decent graphics card for the game. Since it is Christmas shopping season there are sales going on where you may actually find a pretty decent performing video card.

Here's a couple of examples:

XFX HD-667X-ZHF3 Radeon HD 6670 - A pretty good mainstream graphics card for $59 after rebate

DIAMOND 6750PE51GSB Radeon HD 6750 - This is considered an "entry level" performance graphics card. Better performance than the HD 6670, but it also costs more at $80 after rebate

but if he only has 1 GB of ram ..might need a boost there too ..the CPU even the lowest one is prolly fine ..also it aparantly only has a 250W PSU ..might limit his GPU upgrade options

ok you can prolly run SWTOR with what you have ..how well it runs and how good it looks is iffy ...btw .how yo uhook up to your TV display ? HDMI i assume ? so the only thing would want/need to upgrade is the video card and you might not need to do tht at all ..based on your Power Supply of 250 W ..I geussing that about HD4350 is about the BEST you can hope for and that might be too much for that PSU..

try this http://c1.neweggimages.com/BizIntell/tool/psucalc/index.html?cm_sp=Subcat58_PowerSupply_left-_-PowerSupplyFinder022610-_-http%3a%2f%2fpromotions.newegg.com%2fproductfinders%2fpowersupply.jpg

The cards I listed draws too much power for you to use in your PC. I recommend the following card if you do not want to upgrade your power supply.

HIS IceQ H657QO1G Radeon HD 6570 = $60

I'm using an RGB cable to hook up to it. So your saying i need to upgrade the Psu? If i do upgrade what PSU and Graphics card should i get then? Im running on a pretty tight budget. My budget is $120 (i know very slim) with psu and card included. I played in the swtor beta last weekend and my fps was at a high 23 and a low of 5. :(

the other problem of upgrading the PSU on that HP , is it may not have a standardized design ..in other a standard PSU may not fit correctly in your HP case .. when you played the Beta ..what settings wered used ..you could try things like turning off the shadows completely , and turning down the settings until you get a better fps

I was on the lowest settings possible. I turned off the shadows had ground clutter,graphic detail....everything on low.

ok, then need to find if that HP case has a standard size PSU and the MB standardized power connections ..otherwise your GPU upgrade options would be limited ...that PSU Watt caclulator I link you , you can plug in the components you have , then pick the video card last , and see if that keeps you in the 250w range ..OR ..try and find out if the case and MB will even take a stndrd PSU , but then that you cut into your GPU bdget .so I would try to stay with 250w psu you have , and just look for GPU with low power use , prolly gonna be an AMD card and not a whole lot better than you already have

ok, swapping out the PSU on that HP , is prolly going to be a REAL pain ...was trying to find a card that you wouldnt have to swap the PSU .. lemme see what I can find out about the PSU and MB in that HP ..
