[SOLVED] Advice for upgrading my gaming system

Hi guys,

I would like to upgrade my current system because I would like some better performance while playing Battlefield 5. Currently I play at 60-80 FPS on low.

Approximate Purchase Date: Next month
Budget Range: +/- 500 euro
System Usage: Gaming (mostly BF5)
Monitor: Using a 60Hz 1080P atm, want to upgrade next year to a 144HZ 1080P
Parts to Upgrade: CPU/MOBO
Overclocking: Maybe

My current setup:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1500x
MOBO: MSI B350M Mortar (with the latest BIOS)
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX CMK 16GX4 M2A 2400 C16 (2x8GB)
GPU: Gigabyte GTX 1060 6GB OC
DISKS: 1x 250GB SSD, 2x 125GB SSD, 1x 1TB HDD

I searched online and came up with 4 options:

Option 1
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600x
MOBO: ASRock B450M Pro4

Option 2
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 2700x
MOBO: ASRock B450M Pro4

Option 3
CPU: Intel i5 8600k
MOBO: MSI Z370M Mortar

Option 4
CPU: Intel i5 9600k
MOBO: MSI Z370M Mortar

What is you opinion or what do you give as an advice?

I think the Ryzen 5 2600X gets you the best bang for the buck.

....and I think the Ryzen 7 2700X will perform the best.

The 6C/12T Ryzen 2600 (non-X) is a drop-in replacement that doesn't require a new mobo for $160.
If you're streaming while gaming the 8C/16T Ryzen 1700 (non-X) is $200.

I dont stream, just multiplayer on BF5 and now and then some other games.

Have you tried overclocking that 1500x? Also, your ram is too slow, for Ryzen. You should be running DDR4 3000, at minimum. I would get the correct ram, and try an overclock, before changing the platform.

Dont have any experience with overclocking.

Does the RAM makes that big of an upgrade?

Ryzen is very ram sensitive, and needs fast ram to get the most out of it. Your CPU should be capable of higher settings, than what you are running at, after looking at some benchmarks. Are your drivers up to date? Have you looked at temps at all?

The 2400g would be pretty even with your 1500x, at like clock speeds, and gets similar framerates with a much faster GPU, as what BF5 gets with a faster CPU, and the same GPU you have. Your system is pretty balanced.

Sounds good, do you have any recommendation for me?

i found myselfe Corsair DDR4 Vengeance LPX 2x8GB 3200 C16. Its the same RAM that i allready have but mutch faster

Just as a side note, if you still want to upgrade your CPU, your current ram is fine, with an Intel build. Intel's architecture isn't as ram sensitive, as Ryzen is. If you want to stay AMD, no need for a new board, as stated above. With the latest bios, you have support for a 2600/2700.
