Question Advice/Help Required (Gaming)

Evening,

First time on this forum hope this post is okay.

Just bought pre-build Scan 3XS gaming system with whats touted as the best processor.

Spent £2.2k on the rigout just for CS2 to feel absolutely horrendous. The best way of describing it is laggyness, but it isn't related to ping or internet as you would traditionally associate with 'lag'.

Choppy, delayed, feels like 60hz (its not) unplayable almost and I can't believe that after getting a good rig the game is behaving like this.

The weirdest problem is that every now and then it will be absolutely buttery smooth - how the game is supposed to feel with no changes etc

BIOS - EXPO 1 Enabled, PBO makes minimal difference

I don't know what to do other than send the system back as it feels like a waste of money.

I've tried most the usual stuff, Process Lasso, Launch options, I don't know what to do. Any advice?

64GB RAM
ASUS VG279M monitor - 240hz
ASUS B650M-A MOBO
AMD 9800X3D
Geforce RTX 4080 Super

What games are you playing? Source?

What PSU is installed?

Disk drive(s): make, model, capacity, how full?

= = = =

Use Task Manager and Resource Monitor to observe system peformance. Windows includes both tools.

Use both tools but only one tool at a time. (There are other tools available.) Run as Admin.

Open the tool window and leave it open and visible.

Just watch for awhile - hopefully the system will reach some stable level where little or nothing is changing.

Leave the window open and game as usual.

Pay attention to what resources are being used, to what extent, and what is using any given resource.

Watch for what changes - especially if and when the lagginess begins. Shift between tabs/views as necessary - for example Task Manager > Performance > CPU, Memory, Disk ().....etc..

Watch the graphs when available - changes may be very apparent in some cases.

It may take you a bit of trial and error to work through it all. Just be methodical, keep notes, and do not jump to any immediate conclusions.

See what you can discover.

There are other ways to delve into such problems if that becomes necessary.

Thanks for your reply Ralston, appreciate it.

Game is Counter-Strike 2. PC is literally 8 days old and only CS2/Discord are install so I can't for a minute think it's related to the disk drive which is 1TB capacity.

PSU is Corsair 750e.

I'm not familiar with Resource Monitor and I can observe Task Manager but not whilst in-game, by the time I've tabbed out the usage has dropped so it doesn't give a proper reading if that makes sense?
