Hi guys,

Black friday is here and coupled with local promotions.
My Desktop from 2014 is dying.

Below is my selected components. But there are some issues highlighted. I did my research and it seems compatible.
Appreciate any advice.

CPUi5-14600KF
ITXMSI MPG B760I EDGE WIFI
GPUASUS Dual Geforce RTX 4060 OC 8GB
PowerCooler Master v750 SFX
SSD 2TBSAMSUNG 980 PRO SSD 2TB PCIe NVMe Gen 4 Gaming M.2 Internal Solid State Hard Drive Memory Card, Maximum Speed, Thermal Control, MZ-V8P2T0B
RAMCORSAIR VENGEANCE DDR5 RAM 32GB (2x16GB) 6000MHz CL36 Intel XMP iCUE Compatible Computer Memory - Black (CMK32GX5M2D6000C36)
Coolerthermalright axp90 -X53
ChassisFractal Terra
120mm fannoctua nf-P12

Below are the warnings I got from system.
  • Problem: Fractal Design Terra Mini ITX Desktop Case and Thermalright AXP90-X53 42.58 CFM CPU Cooler are not compatible.
  • Warning: The MSI MPG B760I EDGE WIFI Mini ITX LGA1700 Motherboard supports the Intel Core i5-14600KF 3.5 GHz 14-Core Processor with BIOS version 7D40vA4. If the motherboard is using an older BIOS version, updating the BIOS will be necessary to support the CPU.
  • Note: The Thermalright AXP90-X53 42.58 CFM CPU Cooler may require a separately available mounting adapter to fit the MSI MPG B760I EDGE WIFI Mini ITX LGA1700 Motherboard.

The motherboard warning can be alleviated with a BIOS update during your first initial setup of the computer. You can check out the motherboard manufacturer's site for best advise on how to do this.

After looking at the specs for both the case and the cooler they show specs that it should fit based on their measurements provided.

Few thoughts, intel unlocked i5 runs hot and are power hungry and not the gaming cpu king. also, the LGA 1700 and Z790 / B760 is end of life.

for a FD Terra itx gaming build,

you can go for a 2 slot gpu and have a better and taller cooler. with 2 slot gpu, u can have CPU cooler upto 77mm which means you can use something like the AXP120 X67

I have heard concerns on the temp. Might be wise to swap to a x67 cpu cooler. I’m not an AMD person though. Would the x67 fit in my mentioned built?

That's the best you're likely to do cooler wise in that case. There is the Noctua NH-L12S, but it would leave you less room for the GPU and I'm not sure it would cool better.

It looks like there is a variance of 29mm in cooler heights the Tom's review says there are 7 stops so I'm guessing it's in multiples of 4. In theory this would leave about 51mm for the GPU. The dimensions of the GPU would then ideally be equal to or less than 322mm x 131mm x 51mm.

Hi guys,

Just wanted to give an update to show my appreciation.
I’ve built my system successfully.
The terra chassis is beautiful and cleverly designed. But the ITX form was really challenging on the cable management. My cables were physically stopping my bottom 120mm fan from spinning.
Apart from that. The build experience was smooth. 2 hours in total.

Would love to see you build!

If you can, post some photos here:
