Good day everyone! I'm new here and I created my account to get some advice on my new PC build! I'm currently shopping for PC parts.

So I currently have this:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600X 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor - €145 euros
Motherboard: Gigabyte B450M DS3H Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard - €70,00 euros
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3000 Memory - €85,05 euros
Storage: Samsung 860 Evo 250 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive - €60,95 euros
GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 1660 Ti 6 GB VENTUS XS OC Video Card - €295,00 euros
Case: Cooler Master MasterBox MB520 RGB Midi Tower - €65,00 euros
PSU: Cooler Master MWE Gold 650 Full Modular PSU - €73,05 euros
OS: Windows 10 64-bit - Free (I'm getting it from a friend)

(https://nl.pcpartpicker.com/list/KWD9hy)

Total costs are around €800 euros (don't mind the price provided in the link).
My budget is €800-850 euros (it may be higher if needed).

So here a few things I think that could be improved:
- RAM
The RAM I'm getting has 3000 Mhz as ram speed, but I see that the mobo only supports 2400 MHz, 2133 MHz, 2667 MHz, 2933 MHz, 3200 MHz(O.C.). I don't know if it would go down to 2933 Mhz when going to the profiler. I think I should get another ram sticks?

- Storage
I'm buying extra storage when I have the money for it. So, for now, 250GB SSD.

- PSU
I think that 550 watt is more than enough but someone said that I should get 650 watt to be safe. Still considering getting lower though.

- Case
The case comes with 3 RGB front fans and 1 non-RGB rear fan. I saw a post saying that the DS3H only has 2 fan slots, so I think this case wouldn't be the right option?

What do you think of this build?

This is my first PC build, any advice is welcome!

I am very glad you asked us firstly please get the Coolermaster PSU out of your PC and replace it with a Seasonic FOCUS Plus Gold or Corsair TX/RM secondly if you are gonna have a lot of games on your pc get a 500GB (at the least would be better to get a 1 TB) and 2-3 TB HDD but if that is not in the budget I'd get at least a 1 TB SSD till you can afford a data drive.

Hello AngelTech!

I'd like to mention a few things:
  • The PSUs are a bit over my budget;
  • I'll add more storage once I got money, that's why I leave it at 250GB;
  • So everything else with my build is fine?;
  • Also for the RAM, I'm buying a 3000 Mhz while the motherboard supports 2400 MHz, 2133 MHz, 2667 MHz, 2933 MHz, 3200 MHz(O.C.). Does that mean I'm fine?

As far as I know the motherboard will underclock the RAM to lowest frequency available, in this case 2133mhz, so it should be fine, however, I probably would buy 16gb but a lower clocked RAM that the motherboard would support and (probably) end up saving a bit of money in the process.
Idk about the PSU since a lot of people seem to dislike Coolermaster PSUs so I would recommend getting a Corsair one.

I see
  1. can you get a newer model of Corsair CX?
  2. I see if you don't mind speed or loading times you may want to start with a 1 - 2 TB HDD
  3. From what I can tell yes
  4. Yes you should be fine

Oh! But I can set it to 2933 Mhz then, right? I chose this RAM stick because it was cheaper than the specific ones (2933Mhz).

Alright, I'll get a different PSU other than Coolermaster's.

To be truthful I don't really know if you'll be able to set it to the 2933 due to not many resources being available, however after searching around the web userbenchmarks.com lists that mobo as compatible with that ram, also a few forum posts say the same. Also I wouldn't dwell on ram speeds too much since if you're gonna use it for gaming the higher clock speeds give a relatively miniscule improvement (1-3 FPS iirc)

Actually, you'd technically be wrong there Ryzen REALLY loves memory and since this is a ryzen build 3000MHZ or more is a must in most builders opinion.
