[SOLVED] Advice needed on OS and drive cloning ?

Can i use two EZConvert MB705M2P-B and a Black FD2002 to clone my current pop os 21.04 with disc encryption on a crucial p1 500gb to a SK hynix Gold P31 500GB PCIe NVMe Gen3 without issue ?

and can after be run on the same mobo or a newer one without having to reinstall
or reset anything os wise ?

In theory, I don't see how this would be a problem since cloning should simply be reading the data as-is, doing a binary copy from one disk to another so that to the computer, they look like they have the same exact contents.

The only requirement I believe is you can't be booted into the source disk. That is, you can't clone your OS drive while you're using the OS that's on it, due to the OS needing to constantly do something with that drive.

Don't know about the EZConvert theng, but a bootable CloneZilla, or even Macrium Reflect should be able to do this for free.

Actually, in the Windows world, Macrium Reflect does exactly this.

I used that the other day and I noticed it created a shadow volume, so that's probably how it got around that.
