Hi all, this is my first post and I'm after advice please as there's a computer fair this coming weekend and I'm thinking about an upgrade.

My current spec is;
Intel i5 6600k (6th gen)
Gigabyte Z170X Ultra Gaming
Asus GTX 750Ti 2GB OC
Corsair RM1000x PSU
Corsair H115i Pro
16GB DDR4 @ 3200MHz
SSD 240GB x2
1080p monitor

I really want to upgrade the GPU but not sure what to go for and whether I should stop there or upgrade the CPU/MB at the same time?

I'd like to eventually be able to play at 1440 resolution.

Solution
I don't think Carty wants to upgrade the cpu. Gtx 1070 ti or 1080 should be fine. If you want to experience some ray tracing why not try the 2070? (i'm not sure if there will be a bottleneck)

Yeah I read a 1070 would be a good match for my CPU without bottlenecking it. I think 1080 is the max I could go though. I just wanted people's opinions.

It is worth looking at a 1070ti?

Thanks for the comments. I know the PSU is overkill lol. I didn't know whether I should upgrade my CPU to the latest 9th gen but that would mean replacing the MB too. I can't really afford to do that and get a new GPU. My 750ti is really outdated now so I'll think I'll just start by upgrading that. There isn't really anything out that supports ray tracing yet is there so an RTX would be a waste of money in my eyes at the moment. I'll look at a 1070ti if I can get one for a good price.

hmm. there should be 1070 ti's that cost around 400 on amazon.

edit: since you said you can afford a gtx 1080, it'll cost around 700 and you should have around 300 witch is enough for a better cpu. if you save a bit more you could get a 9th gen cpu. just letting you know.
