Hi there,
Please advise on your thoughts for best way forward.
Current system:
I7 7700k
Tuff Gaming 1660
Gigabyte z270x Gaming 5
Corsair Vengeance 16gb 2666
500gb Kingston SSD
Deepcool 400D Air cooler
Corsair 550x PSU
Thermaltake Spacecase

I'm convinced my GPU is on the way out. When I play Apex Legends (All settings low, native res and fov) my GPU runs at roughly 90% utilization in the menu and therefore gets really hot, maxing out at about 86 degrees. The dual fans obviously kick in constantly so I preset them to about 90% to keep temps down but they are very noisy.

FPS is pretty good, usually sitting at 144 but does fluctuate.

I pretty much play CSGO, Dota and Apex.

What is the best card for me to upgrade to for 1080p? Is it worth going for the RTX 3060 Ti?

Thanks in advance,
Mike.

yes it is worth the upgrade to 3060Ti or 6600XT, but reading from your complaint it seems that either your thermal paste for the gpu OR the dust have been building up on the gpu so that it blocking the airflow, making it not efficient to transfer the heat, and also the airflow of your case does also effects on that too.

If you're still holding that card you could try to re paste it (and re apply thermal pad if needed), blow the dust buildup on the fans and the heatsink fins till all is good (no dust being built up). But a cpu upgrade would also increase the fps for the games you play.

I jumped from E3 1240 V2 to i3 10105F + B560M Pro (since i only need memory OC) + 2x8GB 3600mhz manual OC to 4133 C18 with tightened subtimings, with the very same gpu (GTX 1050), i gained alot of increase in performance in those games (except dota cause i dont play that), and feel pleasured. An i3 12100/12100F (if you dont need the igpu) + a B660/B660M ddr4 mobo should be plenty from that 7700K. or i you do have the budget go Z690, knowing that 13th gen is coming XD

Also, a good 650W psu like Bitfenix Whisper M should be plenty for it.
