Advice on 1x 8gb corsair ram

I'vebought all my components for my new build. Just a bit of advice needed.

I have 1x 8gb corsair vengance lp ram. Now will this be ok to run or will i need to pair it up with another 8gb to avoid the computer slowing down.

A bit more information on what the purpose of the pc is would help in determining whether 8 ram is enough or not. As most motherboards have dual chanel support you can get a small speed boost when you are using 2 pairs of ram instead of one (1-2% in synthetic benchmarks). If you are only using one it will not slow your computer down, only in comparison a pair of two is slightly faster in some situations.

If you find your computer is constantly writing to the pagefile you need more ram. 8gb is alot, so this will not happen unless you are doing some editing of very large files (photo's/video's).

I would mainly using computer for gaming and photo editing using lightroom. And the usual odds and ends. So as you say my 8gb should be ok.

Go ahead and try w/ your 8GB, depending on the work and size of the object files you use, 8GB may well be plenty

As trafesman said try it out. If it is not enough you can easily add more ram.
