Hi, I've been planning on upgrading for awhile now so I decided to make a list of things to buy. I need advice on whether what I picked out is any good. So here are the parts:

CPU: Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($219.99 @ Newegg)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($29.98 @ OutletPC)
Motherboard: Gigabyte G1.Sniper Z87 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($174.98 @ SuperBiiz)
Memory: Kingston Fury Black Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($149.99 @ Amazon)
Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($138.23 @ Amazon)
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($54.99 @ Newegg)
Video Card: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 770 2GB WINDFORCE Video Card ($324.98 @ SuperBiiz)
Case: NZXT H630 (Black) ATX Full Tower Case ($139.99 @ Mwave)
Power Supply: SeaSonic S12II 620W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply ($71.30 @ Newegg)
Optical Drive: LG GH24NSB0 DVD/CD Writer ($19.99 @ Newegg)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 (OEM) (64-bit) ($89.98 @ OutletPC)
Monitor: LG 23EN43T-B 60Hz 23.0" Monitor ($189.00 @ Adorama)
Wireless Network Adapter: TP-Link TL-WDN4800 802.11a/b/g/n PCI-Express x1 Wi-Fi Adapter ($37.33 @ Amazon)
Fan Controller: NZXT Sentry 2 Fan Controller ($21.99 @ Newegg)
Keyboard: Razer Blackwidow Ultimate 2013 Wired Gaming Keyboard ($135.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Mouse: Razer Naga 2012 Wired Laser Mouse ($77.98 @ SuperBiiz)
Headphones: Razer Carcharias Headset ($56.99 @ Amazon)
Speakers: Harman Kardon SoundSticks III 40W 2.1ch Speakers ($159.99 @ Amazon)
Total: $2084.67

I'm kinda going for a black and green theme here so that was the only motherboard I could find that matches while also supporting LGA 1150. The case is just there temporarily until the NZXT H440 Razer Special Edition comes out. Please try not to mind the peripherals since I already have most of them. I just placed it there for my convenience.

I don't see any difference between the new chipsets in general

The z97 does make provisions for M2 SSD's but that technology is still pretty new so I would wait at least a generation for it to settle down,

So the z87 is definitely still viable and you can probably get a good deal on them now

Yeah I went with the Zotac since it was a good deal and they have been getting a lot of positive reviews lately, know it was off color scheme but didn't see the Gigabyte cooler matching the scheme too well, so it comes down to an aesthetic choice then, but remember the card...
With the budget you have I would put more towards the GPU, either a 4GB version or go up to a 780, or switch over to a 290 or 290X
If you want to go this route you could trim your SSD to a 120GB version and take that extra cash towards the GPU

290 4GB -> $320, http://pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-video-card-gvr929wf34gd
770 4GB -> $339, http://pcpartpicker.com/part/zotac-video-card-zt7030410p
780 3GB -> $460 http://pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-video-card-gvn780oc3gdrev20
290X 4GB -> $500, http://pcpartpicker.com/part/msi-video-card-912v308001

CPU: OK
CPU Cooler: OK
Motherboard: I recommend a z97 motherboard as they will be more futureproof and "upgrade friendly" so to speak
Memory: OK
Storage: If you want to save like 30 $ you can get the crucial mx 100 256GB for 109$ . Real world performance are similar if your going to use for things like web browsing, gaming, documents
Also for the HDD I would recommend the WD Caviar Blue 1TB WD10EZEX. More reliable. Costs about the same as the seagate barracuda.
PSU: OK

Yeah it will be overkill, but if that is the sole point of this build is 1080p gaming you are going overkill in a lot of places. But I would say get a 4GB 770 just because more and more games are using higher VRAM, and the price difference there is not too much, also if you decide in the future you want to game on more monitors you can SLI and have more memory available

I'll change the graphics card for a 4GB 770 then. I've never been a fan on multi monitor displays since the bezels on the monitor usually get in the way and I don't play a lot of games that will benefit from a triple monitor setup. Thanks for the advice though :). I would also like your opinion on the motherboard. Should I just stick with a Z97 board or is the Z87 still viable? Is there any noticeable difference between the Z87 and Z97?

EDIT: I did not notice you posted a Zotac card. I was hoping to get a Gigabyte card for the color scheme. The 4GB version is 394$ atm. So i'll be debating on whether or not it's worth it.
