Hi i dont know where to start. so here is my basic setup. (granted its a few years old now but thinking of getting a new setup later on next year.)

Mother Board: BIOSTAR TA790GXB A2+
CPU: AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 810 Processor
Heatsink Standard
Memory 4GB DDR2
Harddrive Toshiba 1TB

so i have a 2.6ghz cpu and would like to overclock it to 3ghz+ if possable and what would i need
cpu temp on idle is 30'C - 32'C and room temp of 22'C

I have been looking into getting 4GB more ram and SSD for faster boating and a Cooler Master Hyper TX3 EVO unless anyone can give any other recommendations then if it runs alright my son can have it when i done my new build many thanks for help

Try Ht base clock 230MHz
HT link speed 1600MHz
CPU-NB speed 1600MHz
CPU Vcore 1.4V
CPU-NB voltage 1.15V
RAM speed lowest(you didn't tell us about your RAM speed).

If this works I'll be able to guide you to a stable yet safe overclock. Many won't like this approach of mine and I don't do this in my own rig but hey, I know you need a quick (yet safe) way to a moderate overclock. Just don't let CPU core temp go beyond 60degrees. Post here what you get.
