Hi, I've recently overclocked my AMD FX-8320 to 4.6Ghz and pretty darn pleased with it and it's performance. would it be at ALL worth it to upgrade to an AMD FX-8350? I can afford and would much prefer the i5 4670k but I have an AMD based rig with an AMD motherboard and don't want all the hassle at the moment but might in the future, Thanks! :)

Solution
The FX-8350 is pretty much just an 8320 that runs at 4.0-4.2 GHz stock instead of 3.5-4.0 GHz. It's definitely not worth the upgrade.

The Core i5-4670K has its advantages, but generally I would say it's not worth buying when you already have a pretty good CPU in the FX-8320. Better to wait until you can get a bigger upgrade.

Well, It's only a few £ more in my country and it's stocked at 4.0Ghz so I was thinking I could get a higher OC with it but I guess it all goes down to the mobo and psu

thanks for your advice :)

the 8320 and 8350 are the same cpu. generally any overclock you achieve on one you'll come pretty close to the same on the other.

so no... you probably won't see any difference going to the 8350... other then whatever random luck you get with the silicon... it's possible it might overclock more... or less... due to the random chance that comes with overclocking cpus.

nope, no point in changing cpus.

Dont do it. Its the same CPU, and you need monster cooling if you want to OC to 5ghz stable for the 8350. 4.6 is where I'm at as well with the 8350 and have H60. runs hot.
