[SOLVED] Advice on building pc

I want to build a pc with RTX 3050 and i am thinking about paring it with a i5-11400F. Should go with 11th gen or 12th gen. 12th gen would cost me ~90USD more and the cpu bending problem on 12th gen mobo also makes me worried.

at stock power limits the cooler is adequate though not stellar. at those ambient temps and no ac, i'd go with a bit more cooling if you can afford it. water cooling is not needed but maybe a budget 150-175w cooler or so would be good enough.

but if you turn up the power, it will quickly need a lot more as it can pull over 200w easy if you crank it up. you'll need a lot more cooling at those ambient temps to keep it from throttling.
i'm in the AMD camp right now and don't see any reason to go with intel at the moment.

many will disagree for sure, but i see no reason to pay extra for the mobo/cooling etc for the intel system at this time. the performance is there for sure, but the total cost to me is not worth it when you can go Ryzen for less overall system cost.

just my worthless 2 cents thrown in :)

Here in pakistan the upgarde path for AMD based PCs is very limited. Intel cpus and mobos are abundant. And i donot feel comfortable with AMDs PGA design and i have never built an AMD sys before. My budget is also very limited(meaning i cannot afford to bend the cpu pins or any other mishap)

Such is one of the costs of being an early adopter of a new platform. Unless you opt for an i9, the warping issue won't hit you very hard. They'll probably have it sorted out with the 13th gen boards. PROBABLY...

What's your upgrade path like?
I don't upgrade very often at all(around 5 years), and have found that it's better for me to go with a platform that's already mature(d); most of the bugs have already been patched/ironed out.
If you upgrade more frequently, it makes sense to be able to drop in a new cpu later.

considering intel changes cpu socket every other generation, not sure what kind of "upgrade path" is there for it as well.

but if that's what is available to you, and what you want to use, then your answer is an easy one. you don't trust the 12th gen, then go with the 11th gen cpu and move on to enjoying your system. why spend time worrying when you can avoid the problem altogether.

Appreciate your responses. I will be going with 11th gen. One more thing will the stock cpu cooler be enough or should I buy an aftermarket cooler. Here ambient temperature hits 45°C in summer. And A/C is rarely used.
