I'm upgrading monitors from my Viewsonic 17" LCD that has served me so well for several years. The monitor I buy will either be a 20" or 22" widescreen; right now I'm leaning more toward 20" due to its lower cost and the fact that I really won't need that big of a screen.

I'd appreciate any recommendations based on your good or bad experiences with various displays.

Edit: Here are three I'm considering; does anyone have experience with them?

none of those. Samsung 2253BW is affordable, looks sexy, and has a magnificent picture. With a 8000:1 contrast ratio and 2ms response time, it's great for gaming to movies to looking at photos. I'm typing on one right now.

+1 for the samsung.

With the exception of the fact that the contrast is not actually 8000:1... That is the "dynamic contrast" which is not the actual contrast. Its pretty much marketing BS, the real contrast is probably closer to 1000:1.
I would still go with the samsung though, they make great LCD monitors. LG is good too if you wanted something different.

if u want to shave off a few dozen bucks. get the Samsung 2053BW, its specs are the same except its a 20" instead of a 22" monitor. dot pitch will be different too.
